Heng ZHANG - Biography

Bio.

Heng Zhang (Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Taiyuan University of Technology, Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, in 2017 and 2020, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, in 2026. From 2021 to 2022, he was a Research Assistant with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China. From June to December 2025, he was a Visiting Ph.D. Student at Imperial College London, London, U.K. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China.

He was awarded the Research Postgraduate Student Innovation Award 2024/25 by the Graduate School of the University of Hong Kong in recognition of his research contributions. Additionally, he received the Student Design Competition Award at the IEEE WPTCE 2025.

His research interests include sensing technologies, bio-integrated electronic devices, magnetically actuated capsule robotics, and wireless power transfer.
